Membership in the local body is the next step in following Jesus Christ. Membership in the local church is commanded as we are not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together (Hebrews 10:25). The church is not a building or a program to be run; the church is a group of committed followers that share the load of bringing about the Kingdom of God. Church is family. Here at FBC Clute we cherish our church members, and we seek to keep one another accountable before the Lord and the world. We challenge one another to walk upright and worthy of the high calling of a high follower of Christ (Ephesians 4:1-6).
To be a member of FBC Clute you must first be born again and baptized. Following this inward and outward declaration of faith the church body votes to accept a person into membership. A member agrees to uphold our church covenant and the commandments of Jesus Christ (John 14:15). A church member is held accountable to holy living as a representative of the Kingdom of God.
