Sunday School Classes

Getting connected is a big part of belonging @ FIRST. We know how important it is to you to find teaching that is relevant, and a group where you belong. That is why we offer a wide variety of classes, each with a different style and personality.

Homebuilders - a class geared toward families - Room 209
Joy Class - for ladies, both married and single - Room 105
Men's Class - for men, married or single - FLC Breakout room 1
Adult Class - Adults of all ages, married or single - Room 101

Retreats

"And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while; for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat." = Mark 6:31

Face it - life is busy. We all need time to rest. That's the whole idea behind our retreats. Sometimes we just need to leave behind all of the worries and problems, and enjoy resting in the Lord.

Men's Retreat

Our men's retreats are very laid back. Bring your lawn chair, a fishing pole, and if you play an instrument - bring it too! We enjoy time in the Word through devotional thoughts shared each day, and the rest of the day has a very loose schedule - except dinner! We camp in a variety of ways, from tents to motor homes. Don't forget about the sports & games too. Who's up for a game of washers?

Ladies' Retreat

Our yearly Ladies' Retreat is a time to renew our spirits, fellowship with other Christian women, and draw closer to God and each other. With more of a structured schedule than the men, we incorporate skils, testimonies, board games and door prizes into the weekend. Mark your calendars, this year's retreat is Mother's Day Weekend (Friday and Saturday) at the Lodge at Danbury.

Game Nights

Once a month, on a Sunday evening, the whole churcch turns out for a church-wide fellowship. Now, for those of you who aren't as familiar with the southern terminology, fellowship means food, and lots of it!

Some occasions include a themed fellowship, like movie on the lawn (picnic) or the Great Ice Cream Makers contest. Bring your favorite food and stay after church and enjoy mingling with your church family.

Parties

There's always something to do @ FIRST! Our Sunday School classes often host class parties, such as BBQ's, Fish Fry's and anything else that includes good southern hospitality.
